ABOUT DR. PREETIKA MUKHERJEE

Dr. Preetika Mukherjee is a neuropsychologist in New York City and is licensed in the state of New York.

Dr. Mukherjee received her doctorate in School/Clinical Psychology from New York University. She completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital. She is a former Director of Neuropsychological Evaluation Services at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City. She has also served as an Assistant Professor at Columbia University and Mount Sinai where she taught and supervised postdoctoral fellows and psychology interns.

When working with children or adolescents, Dr. Mukherjee is able to easily connect with them and make them feel comfortable. She has tirelessly worked with educators, school administrators, therapists, and medical doctors to improve the overall functioning of children and adolescents in New York City for over a decade. Dr. Mukherjee is trilingual (English, Hindi, and Bengali) and has worked with families residing in the United States and abroad. 

When working with adults, Dr. Mukherjee creates a trusting therapeutic relationship and uses a holistic life-span model to help understand the overall person. This helps her understand their strengths and struggles and provide adequate support and intervention.

Being a mother of two children, Dr. Mukherjee can understand and empathize with the anxieties of parents and working adults. She ensures that the results of the evaluation provide a clear picture of the overall functioning and insights into the treatment. After the results and plans for treatment are discussed, Dr. Mukherjee also helps connect the families and adults with the professionals and resources needed to be successful. 

When she is not working, Dr. Mukherjee loves to spend time with her family, travel and read.
